I got summoned for jury duty once and had to make those nerve-racking phone calls every day to the court to see if I had to report, fingers crossed that my name wouldn't be drawn... and it wasn't! Phew!

Somehow I was spared serving jury duty and I didn't even have to lie and make up some crazy excuse!

This guy got dismissed from jury duty in a pretty interesting way: He showed up wearing a  prisoner Halloween costume.

According to Fox 11 Online,  a man named James Lowe from Barnet, Vermont had jury duty on Tuesday, and showed up in a black and white striped prisoner costume with matching hat.

Lowe was pulled aside by court officers to meet with the judge.

The judge said Lowe could have been held in contempt of court and gotten a fine or jail time; but because there was nothing in the rules about juror clothing, the judge dismissed him.

Hmm. So it worked, but seems pretty darn risky.  I guess Lowe gets points for creativity, though. And now he's all set for a Halloween costume in October. Bonus.
