Man Burned Down Kalamazoo Adult Store to Destroy Pornography, Police Say [Video]

Wednesday night, a fire destroyed the Hollywood Nights adult entertainment store on South Westnedge Ave. in Kalamazoo.

According to WZZM-13 the Kalamazoo business caught on fire just before 5 p.m. Wednesday.

South Westnedge was closed in both directions as crews tried to put out the blaze.

No injuries were reported, but the building is being considered a total loss.

A witness reported seeing a man near the fire and another witness later reported seeing a man attempting to hide an ax in a dumpster.

Police caught up with the man in nearby Comstock. After a brief chase, the suspect was arrested on arson charges. He is expected to be identified pending formal arraignment and to be charged Friday.

Fox 17 News reports that that according to Kalamazoo Police, the suspect set the fire to destroy the pornography in the building.
