You might need a seat belt for this one. Local H are here to rock you with their brand new track "The Misanthrope." The band is teaming with Loudwire to premiere the song, which is featured on the upcoming Hey, Killer album.

"The Misanthrope" really pushes the pulse, starting off minimal before drummer Ryan Harding and leader Scott Lucas really pick up the aggression, leaving nothing on the table as they rock out the track.

Lucas tells Loudwire, "This was the first tune that we wrote for the record. Mixing Bauhaus, Pixies, and Moliere with lyrics about death and religion, it was already one of our darker songs. But this new version adds goth-y vocals and creepy piano to underscore the feeling of dread. Then we tried to make the chorus as catchy as possible -- so you wouldn't notice that the song is such a downer." If the song sounds familiar, an early version of the track initially appeared on an EP the band sold at shows last year.

"The Misanthrope" injects some serious attitude into the middle portion of the Hey, Killer album and goes along with the theme for the disc. As Lucas recently stated, "The goal with this record was to trim the fat and just pile on the hooks. All killer, no filler is how the saying goes. Obvious stuff, really. In the end, you're just trying not to suck. It's a simple plan. The record's called Hey, Killer, not Hey, Filler."

The song feels like a perfect fit for the stage. And speaking of which, Local H will be touring in April and May in support of the Hey, Killer disc. Plus, they've just announced a leg of tour dates kicking off June 12 in Ferndale, Mich. Check out their tour dates below.

Hey, Killer is due April 14 via G&P Records. To pre-order the effort, visit the band's PledgeMusic page here.
