Babies require a lot of sleep and heavy metal may not be the most conducive for sending infants off into dream land. Twinkle Twinkle Little Rock Star has a history of bridging this long elusive gap and are now offering a set of Killswitch Engage songs that have undergone the lullaby treatment in the latest addition to the series.

Sure, the soothing sounds of both Jesse Leach and former singer Howard Jones’ clean voices aren’t a far stretch when it comes to relaxing moods, but these versions ensure there’s no bumps and screams along the way. Taking what used to be hair-raising, pit-inducing heavy metal anthems like “The End of Heartache" and new tunes in “Hate By Design” and “Strength of the Mind," Twinkle Twinkle Little Rock Star have stripped these tunes of their aggressive qualities in favor of gleaming, pleasant passages. In the video below, the transformation of the Daylight Dies cut “My Curse” can be heard.

The tranquil mood of gentle piano melodies and crystalline sounds ring out with the perfect amount of ethereal sustain, falling in line with the opening moments of Killswitch’s standard, but this doesn’t last long. Where the metalcore vets get heavy in a flash, the lullaby version carries on peacefully, gradually building into more sweeping, underlying movements around halfway into the song.
