It’s official: Kid Rock is not running for Senate in Michigan. The musician confirmed on The Howard Stern Show that his political career will not be taking off, much to the relief of Stern.

Kid Rock has been teasing a Senate run for quite some time, even getting fans to believe he may be running for President in 2020. His rally-type concerts and political speeches got huge reactions nightly and Kid Rock even set up KidRockforSenate.com with campaign merch. Alas, it was just a publicity stunt for his new album, Sweet Southern Sugar.

“F—k no, I’m not running for Senate. Are you kidding me?” Kid Rock told Howard Stern. “Who couldn’t figure that out? I’m releasing a new album on Nov. 3. I’m going on tour too. Are you f—king s—tting me?”

Kid Rock also told Stern that he remains a supporter of Donald Trump, calling the 45th president “the f—king s—t.” “[Trump’s] messaging is not the best,” Rock added. “And if I get to talk to him again, play golf or whatever, I’d be like, ‘Dude, we got to talk about this.’ I think the things he’s doing is good.”

Along with his new album, Kid Rock announced a 2018 North American tour. Check out those dates and the Sweet Southern Sugar track listing below.
