Late travel journalist, author and acclaimed chef Anthony Bourdain made a lot of friends in the rock industry through his adventures, and one of his closest pals was Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme, who had previously appeared on Bourdain's No Reservations series on Travel Channel. Homme was among those weighing in shortly after Bourdain's suicide, and he has continued to share stories about Bourdain offering a sweet memory of the chef writing an apology to his daughter.

Homme stated in a recent tweet, “Tony, I miss you bad. Camille was so mad at you. She was defending me. And so were you," referring to a sketch on Bourdain's show where the host memorably smashed the musician's guitar to bits. "And you, with great care, such empathy, such sweetness. … You apologized to a little girl who was defending her daddy." Homme directed the tweet to Bourdain's daughter Ariane so that she would know the kind of man her father was.

The singer then posted the note that Bourdain penned to Homme's daughter, revealing that the made-for-TV moment was a nod to a famous Animal House guitar smashing scene and was not the precious instrument she thought it was. The full post can be viewed below in the tweet, while Homme's episode with the guitar-smashing scene can also be seen in the player provided.

Upon initially hearing of Bourdain's death, Homme posted a social media message conveying his grief, stating, "Dammit Tony. I’m so sorry. I’m so destroyed. I love you brother. I miss you too much already. My love & condolences to Ariane & Ottavia."

Anthony Bourdain was 61 at the time of his death.
