It kind of felt like we were cutting class when Metalhead Ned and I took off from work in the middle of the afternoon to go eat wings at Buffalo Wild Wings on Alpine.

I half expected a to see my high school principal, Ryle Keiser (Yes, that's his real name. Sounds like villain in movie, right?) in the rear view, his bald head glowing red with anger, shaking his finger at us school skippers.

Sometimes it's weird being adult: We ditched work early to go sample awesome wings at Buffalo Wild Wings for King of the Wing, and it was totally OK!

The 3rd Annual King of the Wing is coming up this Wednesday (March 25th) and Buffalo Wild Wings on Alpine shared their entries for this years competition.

It's been a while since I've been to this B-Dubs and it was cool to see what it looks like now since their remodel in June!

It's a very open and inviting area, with tons of beers on tap! Dave, one of the mangers, told us they currently have 30 draft beers on tap and are looking to expand to 60!

Another manager, Raphael brought some heaping baskets of wings out for us to enjoy.

One of the great things about B-Dubs is how many sauces they have. It's not just your typical "Mild" and "Hot". They've got so many sauces to choose from!

Here are the wings we sampled that you can try at King of the Wing:

Carribbean Jerk: Raphael called this wing their "magic trick" because the island flavors start out sweet, but then have a bite at the end. Because Ned has been to Jamaica one time, he's pretty sure he's an expert on all things Caribbean... Check out that Jamaican accent!

Chipotle Rub: This is a sauceless wing with spicy seasonings. If you're looking to minimize the mess from saucy wings, but still want tons of flavor, this could be a good option.

Honey BBQ: Raphael says its their most popular king of wing-- sweet and little bit sassy. I thought that sounded a lot like a person I know... So I decided these wings should be called "Janna's wings".

Spicy Garlic & Parmesan Garlic: These wings actually have two sauces mixed together, which is an idea that comes actual Buffalo Wild Wings guests! Raphael says they see patrons mixing sauces all of the time, so they decided to use a fan "recipe" at King of the Wing!

Raphael also brought out some Mango Habanero wings, especially for Ned. They won't be making an appearance at King of the Wing, but it was fun to watch Ned squirm and sweat under the heat.

I'm not that brave, so I tried a tiny bite. Pretty sure my face is still on fire. Delicious, but spicy as heck for sure!
