James Bond memorabilia auctioned off by Christie’s auction house yielded nearly $3 million last week in a charity event set to commemorate the tail chasing playboy’s 50th anniversary on the silver screen.

Bond fans from some 42 countries participated in the auction, which took place both online and at black-tie swaray at Christie’s auction house over the weekend.

Unfortunately, Sean Connery (the greatest Bond to ever live) was not in attendance, although his successor, Roger Moore, was - alongside veteran Bond actress Judi Dench who also appears in the latest Bond film ‘Skyfall’ slated for release October 24.

Auction highlights included the Aston Martin DBS driven by Daniel Craig in the opening scene of ‘Quantum of Solace’, which was estimated to sell for between $207,000 and $310,000. Much to their surprise, some lucky Bond connoisseur nabbed the ride for a whopping $504,400.

Other hot items like the titanium Omega watch worn by Craig in the upcoming film ‘Skyfall’ sold for $323,250 along with his Tom Ford tuxedo for $96,975.

All proceeds from the auction went to benefit multiple charities including UNICEF.
