Playboy icon Hugh Hefner's official cause of death has been reported, and it was a mix of ailments that left him dead at 91 on September 27.

According to The Blastwhich obtained Hefner's death certificate, the mogul died of cardiac arrest, but the site adds that E. coli and Septicemia (a blood infection) were key accelerators. The Blast also notes that the E. coli was so powerful it was "highly resistant to antibiotics."

Hefner was buried next to Marilyn Monroe in the Corridor of Memories Mausoleum just days after his death. His widow, Crystal Harris, said it was the perfect eternal resting place, according to Us Weekly.

“We laid him to rest Saturday. He is in the place he was always certain he wanted to spend eternity,” she noted. "He was an American hero. A pioneer. A kind and humble soul who opened up his life and home to the world. I felt how much he loved me. I loved him so much. I am so grateful.”
