LaughFest season is approaching, and every year organizers kick off the event with a record-breaking attempt. This year, they're taking a little bit of a different approach with a viral video sensation that flooded the internet in 2016.

On Thursday, March 9th you can be a part of history by setting West Michigan's biggest mannequin challenge. The event will take place at Rosa Parks Circle and pre-registration is encouraged. If interested, you can register at LaughFest Central inside the Grand Rapids Art Museum. Registration opens TODAY (2/27)!

The Community Kickoff begins at 6 p.m. with a group picture right before the mannequin challenge video. Everyone should wear yellow or LaughFest gear. LaughFest Central will be open if you'd like to get souvenirs before or after the challenge. You can get more info here.

If you remember, the mannequin challenge is where you hold still during an action, like a mannequin, as a camera moves getting everyone's different "actions." The challenge is always done with rap group, Rae Sremmurd's song "Black Beatles" playing in the background.

Here's the one LaughFest did a few months ago promoting the 2017 season.

Last year, LaughFest attempted to reclaim the Guinness Book of World Records title of "Most Rubber Chickens Thrown At One Time" but failed to do so.
