WGRD debuted "Heavy is the Head", the new Zac Brown Band song featuring Chris Cornell, on the Liquid Lunch.

The country sound is different from Cornell's other work as frontman of Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, and Audioslave.

Zac Brown Band will release their fourth studio album, Jekyll + Hyde on April 28th. In anticipation of the release, the band performed "Heavy is the Head" with Cornell on Saturday Night Live March 7.

This is the second time Brown has collaborated with artists associated with the Seattle rock scene. Foo Fighters recorded their song "Congregation" at Brown's Nashville studio, and Dave Grohl produced Brown's EP The Grohl Sessions, Vol. 1.


Soundgarden's last album, King Animal was released in 2012, 16 years after their previous album.

The band released a three-disc collection of B-sides and rarities called Echo Of Miles: Scattered Tracks Across The Path last year.

According to Loudwire,  Soundgarden planning to get back in studio soon and release a new album in 2016.
