Red Hot Chili Peppers have released a new song! GRD debuted "Dark Necessities" on the Liquid Lunch today, wanting to know what GRD listeners think.

Check out their reactions, then listen to "Dark Necessities" and let us know your thoughts!

"Dark Necessities" will be on Red Hot Chili Peppers upcoming 11th album, The Getaway, our June 17th.  It's the follow up to 2011's I'm With You.

You can pre-order the new album here, and you'll get an instant download of  "Dark Necessities".

About the new album, frontman Anthony Kiedis told Rolling Stone,

"We’ve written some songs that I feel are as good as any songs we’ve ever written.  [The album producer, Danger Mouse] is very good about coming up with super-modern ideas, but he'll also touch on the acoustic guitar in the control room and strip the song down to its acoustic essentials. Which is a beautiful place to be."

So this is pretty cool--  right before we debuted the new song, I was told that Anthony Kiedis' mother and sister would actually be listening! Anthony grew up in Grand Rapids and still has family that lives in the area, so that's pretty neat that they'd hear it for the first time on the radio on GRD! One of his cousins actually called in!

Check out what he has to say and what other GRD listeners think of "Dark Necessities", then have a listen and let us know your opinion!
