I love Grand Rapids and all it has to offer with local music, so I decided why not feature local bands here on wgrd.com! Today's featured Levitys Law, they answered a few questions for me below! Check them out, and if you're in a local band who wants to be featured fill out this form. I don’t just feature anyone, so don’t suck and you’ll get the Jackie stamp of approval ;) Find me on facebook too, to follow all your favorite local bands, and GRD news by clicking HERE

Who are all the members of your band, and what do they play?
Tyler Wheeler - Vocals
Jeremy Bardwell - Guitar
Thad Underhill - Bass
Chris Sears - Drums
When did the band get together, and how?
Ty and I have been writing music for as long as I can remember. The beginning of high school is when we started playing full band. Mind you we're in our mid-twentys now. We have had on and off again bass players & drummers over the years. Thad and Chris have just joined us and they are both great. We're lucky to have them.
How would you describe your music to someone?
This is always been a hard question for me. Our music is always evolving. I hate to tie it down to any one specific genre. One reviewer labeled our E.P. "The Art of Losing" Progressive Rock which I think is pretty cool. But again we have a lot material that wouldn't fit into this category in my opinion.
Who are some of the bands that influence your music?
There are so many Artists that have influenced us. Personally I can go way back to when I was a kid listening to Nirvana on the radio. It just struck a chord with me and ever since then I wanted to be a musician. A Perfect Circle, Seether, Sevendust, Revis, Staind, Hurt and many more have inspired us to write the music we're playing today.
What other bands have your members been/are in?
Ty and I have stuck together over the years. I know that Thad played with Deadwood Stone for a while. I'm not quite sure who Chris has played with.
What other local bands would you recommend people check out?
I don't know if you still want to call them a local band or not but Pop Evil Is great. Wayland Kicks ass, Deadwood Stone is great but these things you already know.
Where is your favorite place to play in Grand Rapids?
We've played teasers a lot in the past but I would have to say my favorite place we've played is The Rocket Lounge. They just get the sound right.
Where can we catch you performing next?
We are in the middle of catching everyone up with the E.P. at the moment, but we will be setting up shows soon. You can check our website levityslaw.com for upcoming shows. We'll be promoting our Single 'My Affliction' off of 'The Art of Losing' E.P.
