This Saturday, July 4th, all three Grand Rapids' pools will be open!

Normally, the pools are closed on the holiday, but this year, thanks to a generous donation, GR pools are open for Fourth of July swimming! 

WZZM-13 reports that a long-time Grand Rapids resident donated the funds to cover the staffing costs for the city's three pools that day.

Because of another generous donation, kids are still swimming free at GR pools! Plus, on the Fourth of July, adult Grand Rapids residents will get half price $1 admission. Admission for non-residents is $4.

Here are the locations and open swim hours for Grand Rapids city pools:

Richmond (1101 Richmond St NW)

  • Monday – 12:30-6:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday through Saturday – 12:30-7:00 p.m.

Briggs (324 Knapp St NE)

  • Monday through Thursday – 12:30-6:00 p.m.
  • Friday & Saturday – 12:30-7:00 p.m.

Martin Luther King, Jr. (900 Fuller Ave SE)

  • Monday through Saturday – 12:30-7:00 p.m.
