A fun Grand Rapids tradition is set to continue this summer. This morning, Downtown Grand Rapids Inc. announced this year's "Movies in the Park" lineup.

Movies will be shown at Ah-Nab-Awen Park in Downtown Grand Rapids. This year's lineup is:

  • June 3 – Wizard of Oz
  • June 17 – Men in Black
  • July 8 – A League of Their Own
  • July 22 – The Mask of Zorro
  • August 5 – Edward Scissorhands
  • August 19 - Double Feature: Ferris Bueller’s Day Off + a to-be-determined Voter’s Choice movie.

Public voting to select the Voter’s Choice film will open June 3, 2016.

A new addition this year is subtitles for Spanish-speaking attendees and people with hearing impairments. Spanish subtitles will be shown with the films on June 3, July 8 and August 5. English subtitles will be shown on June 17, July 22 and August 19.

"Movies in the Park" is entering its fourth year in Grand Rapids. The 2015 films brought more than 31,000 people to Grand Rapids.

  • All films begin at dusk, are free, and open to the public.
  • Pre-movie entertainment begins at 7PM.
  • Bring your own blanket, chairs, beer, wine and snacks.
  • Local food vendors are available.
  • Under 15 must be accompanied by an adult.
