Grand Rapids Metallers Blackgate Kicked Ass with Symphony X and Overkill [Video]

Wednesday night, September 23rd, Symphony X and Overkill descended on The Intersection here in Grand Rapids, for an amazing show! They also featured a great band from Grand Rapids as their show opener, Blackgate! You probably saw these guys at the Heavyweights with Metalhead Ned, and they got the chance to kick ass Wednesday night.

And they did!

I'm an old-school thrash fan, and these guys have that thrash sound, and some hints of bands like Heathen, and Forbidden to them. They rocked a great 20-minute set, that included the song above, "Horizon's Fall".

If you haven't seen these guys play live yet, do yourself a favor and check them out, great players, cool songs, and their singer, David, has a great voice, sort of a Russ Anderson or Dave White style sound to him.
