Grand Rapids Get Ready For The Groundhog’s Day Marathon

Every year in February we wait for that little ground hog to come up and either see his shadow or not, and make us know whether spring is in the horizon or if we'll be suffering through more winter!

Race director of the Grand Rapids Metro Health Marathon, Don Kern, has decided to make some fun out of the Puxtatawny, PA  tradition and start his own race known as the Groundhogs Day Marathon.  He even has given Grand Rapids it's own Groundhog (Gus!)  Grand Rapids Gus will be kicking off the marathon and half marathon this Sunday, February 2nd. The race is ran through the Kent Trails, which he noted that they do not plow!
