As the Jeffrey Willis investigation in Muskegon County continues, it's good to hear about the positive things surrounding the case.

A fund has been set up to help the 16-year-girl who escaped Willis' alleged abduction attempt in April.

Were it not for her escape, a connection may not have been made to the other cases: Willis has now been named a person of interest in the 2013 Jessica Heeringa investigation and yesterday he was charged with the 2014 killing of Rebekah Bletsch.

An abduction survivor herself, 15-year-old Carleisha Taylor has set up a Go Fund Me page to support the Muskegon County teenager who was able to escape, Fox 17 reports.

When Taylor was 8 years old, she was almost kidnapped during a camping trip with her family in Silver Lake. While she was sleeping, a man got into her tent and carried her away. Luckily, Taylor awoke just in time and was able to scream for help and the man ran away.

Her attempted abductor has never been caught.

About the Muskegon County teen, Taylor told Fox 17:

"I know what she's going through. It's a rough time. You just have to have faith through it all and put it in God's hands. She's brave for doing what she did. It's amazing."

Taylor created the Go Fund Me to help with counseling, school funding, or anything else the girl might need.
