Ghost frontman Papa Emeritus (Tobias Forge) is reportedly being sued by his former bandmates. According to a report by Swedish publication Corren, four of Ghost’s former ghouls are attempting to get roughly $22,000 from Forge.

Reports on Ghost lineup changes have been floating around for a large part of 2017. Former guitarist Martin Persner revealed his identity as a former ghoul back in March, while a current nameless ghoul recently claimed Ghost has undergone 10 lineup changes since the group’s formation.

This lawsuit adds more smoke pointing to fires within the Ghost camp. Corren claims that Ghost’s partnership agreement states that Forge was to carry out the band’s management duties and management of the “company’s operations.” Since this is reportedly Forge’s responsibility, he’s the one being targeted for revenue that was allegedly failed to be paid to four Ghost members between 2011 and 2016.

Corren reports Ghost became a “precarious economic situation when the members did not receive any compensation” and “sporadic amounts” were paid to the band members. The website also writes that Ghost members rejected a contract proposal in 2016 because they saw the agreement to be a “slave contract.” Martin Persner is not included in the quartet filing the lawsuit against Forge.

Corren contacted Ghost’s reps but they chose not to comment. Stay tuned as this story develops.
