In a bizarre turn of events on the side of the road in Detroit, friends of man had to lift their car off of him.

According to WZZM, a car was on the side of the road in Detroit when a vehicle that was driving by hit one of the passengers of the vehicle that was disabled due to a crash.

Michigan State Police took to twitter when they responded to a crash on westbound I-94 at Cadieux on Detroits east side. MSP said the passengers had to lift a vehicle off a friend when the vehicle they were in was blocking the left lane.

Of the four people that were in the car, 3 of them were standing on the side of the road when one of them was hit by the passing vehicle. He was pinned under the car and the friends lifted the car so he could be pulled out.

The man was taken to the hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.

No word if any of the drivers of the vehicles were under the influence.

The Michigan State Police Metro South Post are still investigating the accidents.
