Some storms were rolling through Fairburn, S.D., on Tuesday. So, storm chaser Scott Sheppard grabbed his camera and began recording out the window of his car.

He appears to have been recording a rainbow when, all of a sudden, he was struck by lightning.

He was hit in the arm, causing him to drop his camera. The lightning then traveled to the ground and blew a hole in the road. It disabled Sheppard's car, as well as a car passing by.

Surprisingly, he's OK except for a sore arm. How the hell?

Getting struck by lightning has to be one of the most terrifying things ever. When you start to hear the rumbling in the sky and seeing the flashes, just go in the basement.
