Scientists at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Washington University in St. Louis have developed a thin, 3D-printed membrane that wraps around a heart and enables it to beat perfectly forever.

First, a scan of the heart is taken. Then, wizardry happens.

The scan is loaded into a 3D printer and bam: Out pops a perfectly-sized membrane that wraps around the heart.
