Free Beer & Hot Wings: School Board Chairman Resigns Because of Past Buttle Opener Involvement (Video)

Mark Gregory, the Williamson County Board of Education chairman in Tennessee, has stepped down from his position.

"Why?" you may ask? A scandal? An affair? No, not really.

Gregory has resigned from his position because of his prior involvement with a company responsible for the ButtleOpener, a bottle opener shaped like a woman's butt, WTVF NewsChannel 5 reported.

The ButtleOpener is billed as the "world's hottest bottle opener."

An online petition had called for Gregory's resignation as chairman and he obliged.

His statement said:

Only because of the incredible distraction that has taken us away from the very important commitments that we all have made to the boys and girls in Williamson County Schools. Let's get back to this most important business — providing the very best educational experience we can for the students, teachers and staff in Williamson County Schools. I look forward to working with all of you as we move forward, much as I have for the past 10 years."
