Free Beer & Hot Wings: NHL Player Hits the Ice With Bladeless Skates [Video]

When Mike Cammalleri of the NHL's Calgary Flames took to the ice before Saturday's game, he was probably hoping to make a highlight reel.

However, it was probably not for this reason.

For the second time this month, he had a bit of a skate mishap.  

He somehow managed to hit the ice without blades in his skates, something that we didn't think was possible.

We've seen videos before of guys stepping on to the ice with their skate guards still on, but no blades? That happens?

The best part of the video is his stereotypical no-toothed smile and how his teammates are laughing at him as they slide him off the ice on his knees.
