Professional golfer Padraig Harrington made a bit of a name for himself years ago when he appeared on the ESPN TV show "Sports Science" to help determine if the "Happy Gilmore" shot was effective or not.

And lo and behold, it turned out that the silly, run-up-and-swing approach by Adam Sandler's character in the golf comedy actually did help add distance to drives.

Recently, Harrington was participating in the PGA's long drive competition at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Ky., and decided to pull out the "Gilmore" once more. And it worked again!
