Todd Courser and Cindy Gamrat, two former state representatives who were involved in a bizarre scandal last year, will now face legal charges.

Each of the former representatives are facing multiple charges.

Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette announced Friday that Courser is facing one charge of felony perjury and three counts of misconduct in office. Gamrat is facing two counts of misconduct in office.

Courser and Gamrat were involved in an extramarital affair turned bizarre cover up back in September of 2015. Following the uncovering of the scandal, Courser resigned and Gamrat was expelled shortly thereafter.

At the time, the situation garnered a lot of people's attention, including John Oliver from HBO's Last Week Tonight

The scandal and subsequent cover up were also covered on ABC's 20/20 back in January of this year.
