A few months ago, 1,000 Italian Foo Fighters fans played the group's hit 1999 single Learn to Fly in unison as part of an effort to bring the band to Cesena, Italy. On Tuesday, their efforts finally paid off.

The band played a 27-song set, featuring several covers and even appearances from several organizers of the Rockin' 1000 campaign. Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl took time between songs to thank the crowd and explain some of his feelings about the viral video.

“To see you people, singing our song for the whole f**king world, to me, it’s the greatest moment of my life,” Grohl told the crowd. “Of course we couldn’t say no, we had to come. You trapped us, we had to come here.”
