"Oh no, here we go again." That was the reaction Five Finger Death Punch were hoping for, and got, when the curtain lifted on their show in Noblesville, Ind. this past week and Tommy Vext was once again fronting the band. However, it was just Five Finger Death Punch having a little fun before setting up a memorable stage moment for the crowd.

Vext, the Bad Wolves singer, memorably filled in for Ivan Moody in 2017 when the singer had an onstage meltdown that led to a rehab stint. Now, a year later, Moody is sober and Vext is fronting one of the year's breakout bands Bad Wolves, who happen to be opening dates for Five Finger Death Punch. During the Friday (Aug. 31) show, the audience was treated to a little bit of Vext fronting FFDP on "Lift Me Up" before Moody eventually joined him onstage.

Guitarist Zoltan Bathory found the humor in the moment, posting video via social media along with the commentary, "Haha. So tonight when the curtain dropped, we had Tommy Vext standing onstage instead of Ivan. It was funny as hell - all the confused faces thinking in unison, 'Oh nooo, here we go again.' Then Ivan ran out and sang the song with Tommy." Bathory hashtagged his post "5FDPrank." Watch the performance below.

FFDP have close ties with Bad Wolves, with Moody recently rocking the stage with Bad Wolves on "Zombie" during one of their sets on the run.

Five Finger Death Punch have a handful of stops remaining on this tour leg, but will continue with a one off appearance at the Louder Than Life festival before returning to the road in November. See their scheduled shows here. Bad Wolves, meanwhile, catch a little September breather after this run, then return to the road in the U.K. in October. See their stops here.
