Grand Rapids city pools are open for the season!

Normally, it costs $1 for kids 1-17 (infants are free) to swim at one of the three Grand Rapids' public pools.

Thanks to a generous donation-- the first 28,000 kids to visit the city pools will swim for free!

Wood TV-8 reports that Grand Rapids entrepreneur Bob Sullivan has donated $28,000 to allow kids to swim for free in GR.

That amount is based on last year's attendance at Grand Rapids city pools.

City Commissioner, Walt Gutowski announced that as of Wednesday, June 10th, admission fees for kids will be waived.

The cost for adult city residents remains $2.
