Family Threatened With Jail After Putting Up Purple Playground In Their Yard [Video]

This is yet another example of an overreaching homeowners' association.

Marla Stout put up play set in the yard for her kids and she painted it a shade of purple, because she said it matched the trees in the fall. Now, her homeowners' association says she has to take it down because she didn't get the color pre-approved.

Stout brought up the fact that there are no rules against color, but the association isn't giving in. They first told her to take it down two years ago, and now they're threatening her with jail time if she doesn't comply.

Everyone knows the chaos a purple play set could cause. It's surprising that her neighbors haven't killed themselves because of all the trouble it has caused. Either the homeowner's association is really bored and they want to find some way to exercise their power, or they just like to focus on things that really don't matter.
