Saturday night, the Devin Townsend Project hit the Intersection with Between the Buried and Me, and Fallujah, for a night of crazy prog metal. Fallujah kicked things off with some interesting, and heavy music.

This is the first time I've actually heard them, and they were really good live. Lots of dynamics, interesting parts, lots of frenetic drumming, and heavy, screaming vocals.

They go from quite, ambient synth sounds from the keyboards, to screaming, guitar-heavy riffing, and tons of leads and melodies. The drummer is intense, and the double-kick work is fast and super impressive.

Check out the videos if this sounds like your kind of thing. It's pretty cool, and much different than a lot of the stuff you'll hear.
