If you want to do a 4-year degree but maybe aren’t sure how you can afford it, Eastern Michigan University has announced a new plan that if you’ll pay for the first two years of your 4 years, they’ll take care of the last two years.

Yep, you read that right. MLive reports that starting fall of 2019, EMU will pay for the last two years of your degree if you pay the first two years, and oh and you have to live on campus the full four years. That’s 4 years of having a roommate and using communal showers (I mean unless you start dating and just spend a lot of time over there… but you’re still paying to live on campus in order to get the free tuition for year 3 & 4).

Your tuition would also be locked in at a special rate for the duration of your schooling.  For the Fall of 2019, your tuition would be locked in at $13,000/year for 30 credit hours.  And like I said earlier, you’ll also have to pay the $10,500 each of the 4 years you live in the dorms.

The tuition is paid through a new scholarship program call 4WARD Graduation Scholarship which starts at EMU, fall 2019.  Both in-state and out-of-state students will be eligible for the tuition assistance.

According to MLive, here are the requirements for getting the scholarship:

To be eligible for the 4WARD Graduation Scholarship, admitted students must have a 3.0 or better cumulative GPA, an ACT score of 20 or greater or an SAT score of 1020 or better.
