The Detroit Tigers parted ways with Rick Porcello today, trading him to the Boston Red Sox for outfielder Yoenis Cespedes and pitcher Alex Wilson.

The Tigers also added pitcher Alfredo Simon in a separate trade with the Cincinnati Reds.

As the Tigers face the possibility of losing starting pitcher Max Scherzer to free agency, they traded starter Rick Porcello for outfield help and replaced Porcello with starter Alfredo Simon in another deal.

The trades pair together well and gets Detroit some needed help in the outfield.

Will Scherzer return to Detroit? Are there more trades coming?

Hard to count the Tigers out of anything, but we do know, the competition for Scherzer's services is no "church bingo".
