The Detroit Lions unveiled their new uniforms for the 2017 season, and they seem to want to recall the era the team was actually kind of good.

The new duds, which were unveiled on Facebook Live Thursday night, show a return to the base colors of Honolulu Blue and Silver, with the black trim removed, and only a hint of white on the home uniforms.

The unis most resemble the early 1960s era (when a guy from GR named Terry Barr played for them), and there is also a 1950s style throwback outfit to directly connect the team to its last NFL title which came in 1957, 60 long years ago.

The white road uniforms will be accompanied by blue pants, last worn by the team in 1998. A new 'Color Rush' uniform was also unveiled, which is all grey (I wish I could call it silver, but there's no way it's even close) with white numbers and blue trim.

'Color Rush' is an NFL gimmick where teams wear all one color on Thursday night games to compensate for the bad football being played.

And here's a news report about the new uniforms, which shows the team is fired up about them, let me know what you think.

And here's a look at the history of the Lions colors and uniforms...Who knew the Lions once wore red!!?
