For the second time this decade, the Detroit Lions have made the NFL playoffs!

The Philadelphia Eagles' loss to the Washington Redskins on Saturday was the Lions' gain. Before Saturday's game the Eagles and the Lions had similar records in their conference.  The Eagles' loss then secured a spot in the playoffs for the Lions.

The Lions' next game will be against the Green Bay Packers in Green Bay, where the Lions have not won in over 20 years. At this time, the game will air at 4:25PM on Fox on Sunday, December 28th.

While the Lions do not need the win to secure a playoff spot, there are still many advantages to winning, besides, you know, winning.

If the Lions win on Sunday they will win the NFC North division for the first time since 1991. This will guarantee at least one home playoff game.

Depending on what happens with other teams' games, the Lions could potentially have the top spot in the conference, which would give them a first round bye.

Could this be the year the Lions go to the Superbowl? Gotta have hope, right? That's what being a Lions fan is all about!

Go Lions!
