Jane's Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro is happy with the new direction that his band is going with their new album, The Great Escape Artist. After some lineup changes, including the recruitment of TV on the Radio's Dave Sitek, the band is ready to release the album this summer.

Kerrang! reports that Navarro loves the way the band has approached the new record.

"It still has a lot of what I love about Jane's Addiction, which is hypnotic, tribal, ritualistic energy, but with a touch of a new direction," says Navarro. "I'm really excited about it. It's probably one of the more gratifying creative efforts that I've been a part of."

Jane's Addiction performed a 45-minute set in San Francisco for Google's I/O After Hours Party which can be viewed below. The Great Escape Artist is expected to drop in stores this summer.
