Dave Grohl has joined Brian Wilson and an all-star list of artists on a new version of the Beach Boys’ classic ‘God Only Knows.’

The updated version of the 1966 song is being used to launch BBC Music in England, which the company describes as “an ambitious wave of new programs, innovative partnerships and ground-breaking music initiatives that amount to the BBC’s strongest commitment to music in 30 years,’ according to the Guardian.

Brian Wilson also recruited Sir Elton John, Pharrell Williams, Stevie Wonder, Jake Bugg, Lorde, One Direction, Emeli Sandé, Chris Martin, Kylie Minogue, Sam Smith, Florence Welch, Chrissie Hynde, Brian May and many more on the track, which also features the Tees Valley Youth Choir and the BBC Concert Orchestra.

The beautiful video for the song was shot in London’s Alexandra Palace theater and features cameos from every artist involved in the song. Watch it above and try to catch all stars in the clip. The song has been released as a single with all proceeds going to BBC’s ‘Children in Need’ charity. For more info click here.

Back in 1997, the BBC did a similar all-star charity cover of Lou Reed’s ‘Perfect Day,’ featuring Bono, Sir Elton John, David Bowie and more. According to the Guardian, the single raised over £2 million (equivalent $3.2 million) for the aforementioned Children in Need charity.

Meanwhile, Dave Grohl's Foo Fighters will be promoting their 'Sonic Highways' album and HBO show by playing ‘Late Show With David Letterman’ all next week, beginning Monday, Oct. 13.

The eight-part ‘Sonic Highways’ series premieres on HBO Friday, Oct. 17 at 11PM ET. The album release date is Nov. 10. You can pre-order ‘Sonic Highways: The Album’ here.
