Not surprisingly, it's not the metal bands who cause the problems. A crazed Russian "Christian" lurked in the Saint Petersburg airport, awaiting the arrival of some metal bands. When they got off the plane, the man immediately accosted them, and spit on the vocalist for Belphegor, Helmuth Lehner. He made threatening motions at the bands, and followed them around the airport, harassing them.

Then he leapt at Nile mainman Karl Sanders, as if attacking him. Karl was trying to help keep the nut away from Lehner, and got pulled into the attack.

THEN, the nut managed to get their show cancelled, convincing the promoters that the show would violate some Russian federal laws against "inciting hatred against religions", and against public actions "for the express purpose of insulting religious beliefs".

Why can't people just leave other people alone? If someone wants to go to church, that's fine, if someone wants to go to see Nile and Belphegor, that's fine, too.

These extreme religious nutters give regular religious people a bad name. As do the extreme anti-religious nutters. Crazy comes from everywhere.
