Renowned TNT basketball reporter Craig Sager says his leukemia has returned and that doctors say he may not survive to the end of the year.

Speaking with HBO's Real Sports on Tuesday, Sager said his leukemia is no longer in remission. As for his future, Sager, who's had two stem cell transplants, says he's in "uncharted waters" because it's rare to have a third.

Sager, 64, says he's "still kicking, still fighting. I haven't won the battle. It's not over yet, but I haven't lost it either."

He also said doctors tell him he has 3-6 months to live, although that number is not definite.

Sager's fight with leukemia has been well-documented. Back in December, he returned to TNT after his second battle with the disease and interviewed notoriously crusty Spurs coach Gregg Popovich, who gushed about how great it was to have Sager back on the sidelines.

Despite the grim news, Sager plans to continue working for TNT and is scheduled to handle the Warriors-Wizards game on March 29, as well as a few more after that.
