We’ve got an episode of ‘Wikipedia: Fact or Fiction?’ you’ve been asking for for a long time. In this edition of our signature segment, Cannibal Corpse vocalist George ‘Corpsegrinder’ Fisher proves and disproves what’s written about him on Wikipedia.

We ran into some serious fiction right away when it came to the sports teams Corpsegrinder reportedly is a fan of. Despite what Wikipedia says, Corpsegrinder isn’t a diehard fan of women’s curling, the San Antonio Spurs or the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the CFL. Corpsegrinder thinks he may know where the Roughriders rumor came from, having referenced a joke from South Park in the past.

World of Warcraft fans may have run into a non-playable character called Gorge the Corpsegrinder, which was created after WoW learned of Fisher’s love of the game. The Corpse vocalist wasn’t told by Blizzard, however, so instead he found the character on his own after word had spread. “I had heard some rumblings and I went looking around and I was like, ‘I can’t believe it.’ I saw him,” Fisher says. “They mess with the name a little bit, just so they don’t have to pay anybody. I don’t have a problem at all, it’s awesome.”

Wikipedia did correctly list that Cannibal Corpse’s excessively brutal music is never directly influenced by or targeted at anyone in real life, but Corpsegrinder admits to regularly having murderous thoughts while performing “The Time to Kill is Now.” “When I sing that, especially when it first came out, I was always thinking about the Alliance [World of Warcraft],” Fisher says. “I used to say onstage, ‘This is goes out to all you motherfuckers playing Alliance.’”
