Comedian Bill Burr spent almost 9 minutes the other day on his podcast, "The Monday Morning Podcast with Bill Burr",  talking about how great we are in Grand Rapids… well, he bounced around on a bunch of topics, but the most part was about a recent trip to G.R.

He starts off by talking about going to Fountain Street Church, where he was performing and checking out the historic location. Amazing as he listed off the names of people who have spoken or performed at Fountain Street Church… I had no idea!

Back in the day, Fountain Street was the big venue. Winston Churchill, Helen Keller, Amelia Earhart, Malcolm X, Ella Fitzgerald, U2, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and BB King among just some of the names he remembered seeing on the wall. I've only been here a year, but I had no idea how awesome that place was.

He goes on to talk about how great Grand Rapids is, and it’s one of his favorite places to visit. He was especially impressed by Stella’s. He and a friend went in and played Asteroid and enjoyed a few beers. He even mentions, “evidently they had a great burger…”

He ends the clip with a shout out to Dr. Grinn’s where he did a quick set, and apparently offended someone.

Even with that, it’s still cool to hear someone who goes all over the place give a shout out and some love to Grand Rapids!

If you want to hear the clip… just be warned: NSFW!  He drops the F bomb more than your boss or kids need to hear.
