Spring is here, believe it or not, and with the warmer temperatures expected this week, the City of Grand Rapids' yard waste drop-off site has opened a week earlier than scheduled.

The drop-off site, located at 2001 Butterworth SW in Grand Rapids, opened Monday (March 30) for the season.

The location is FREE to all City of Grand Rapids residents. Leaves, brush, and tree branches may be dropped off Monday through Saturday between the hours of 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

Residents must show a valid ID proving residency in the city for the free drop-off. For non-residents, there is a charge for dropping off yard waste.
