It's the most wonderful time of the year to consider taking down your Christmas decorations.

The City of Grand Rapids has opened its drop-off sites and curbside pickup options for Christmas tree recycling.

Grand Rapids has four free drop-off sites where residents may bring their Christmas trees. The sites opened today and will remain open through Feb. 2.

  • Riverside Park (north entrance), 3151 Monroe Ave. NE
  • JC Family Park, 2531 Kalamazoo Ave. SE
  • Lincoln Park, 1120 Bridge St. NW
  • Huff Park, 2399 Ball Ave. NE

Grand Rapids also offers a curbside pickup program. The curbside pickup option requires a $2.50 City of Grand Rapids bulk yard waste tag. Place the tag on your tree and have it curbside by 7am on your regular collection day. Tags are available at City Hall and some retailers. All items must be removed from the tree.
