Looks like Cedar Point is getting a makeover. First we heard they're retiring the wooden coaster, Mean Streak, to make way for new attractions.

Now Cedar Point has revealed Soak City, the amusement park's water park, is getting remodeled. The new park is called Cedar Point Shores Water Park and it will open in 2017, Wood TV 8 reports.

Soak City's last day will be Labor Day. The new park should be up and running for the 2017 season.

The 18 acre park will feature:

  • Point Plummet - A six-story-tall body slide that will send four riders at once on a nearly vertical free fall when the floor drops out from under them.
  • Starboard Surge & Portside Plunge - Two, five-story tubes that takes riders through a series of drops then sends them through an enclosed tunnel before shooting them out into the sun.
  • Lakeslide Landing - A giant family splashground with 12 kid-sized water slides that lead into a zero-depth-entry pool plus an oversized lounge and sun deck area.
