The United States' speedskating team had won 29 gold medals and 67 medals overall in long-track competition before the Sochi Winter Olympics, including four medals at the Vancouver Winter Olympics in 2010.

In a decision reached early Saturday in Sochi, the U.S. Speedskating Association decided to make a switch on its new uniforms, The Wall Street Journal reported along with other numerous other news media outlets, including ESPN, The Associated Press and NBC Sports.

Winter Olympics: Indiana Skier Finds Way to Part in U.S. Slopestyle Sweep

By Zach Huffman | BSU at the Games

It’s not even been three years since the International Olympic Committee brought slopestyle skiing into the Winter Olympics.

Among those kids was Nick Goepper, a member of the U.S. freestyle skiing team. When he started slopestyle skiing as an 11-year-old in southern Indiana, he was hooked.

Winter Olympics: Why Do Olympians ‘Bite Down on Their Booty?’

By Meagan Hook | BSU at the Games

Chomping into the gold. Salivating over the silver. Biting a piece of the bronze.

One sees it with regularity during the medal ceremonies on Krasnodar-Teatralnaya Square at the Sochi Winter Olympics in Russia.
