Goats Return to Kill Invasive Species in Ottawa County

Ottawa County has again decided to use adorable four-legged friends to help control invasive plant species in their parks.

The Ottawa County Parks and Recreation Department has brought in a herd of goats to Bur Oak Landing to help get rid of Oriental bittersweet, honeysuckle, autumn olive, multi-flora rose and bucktorn, according to a release from the county.

Pregnant Woman & Unborn Child Murdered in Muskegon

Police in Muskegon Township are currently investigating the murder of a 21-year-old pregnant woman.

Just before 5 a.m. Wednesday, police were called to Quail Meadows Apartments for a medical emergency. When officers arrived, they found a male resident who directed them inside a home. Inside, they found the woman, Dominique LaShay Oneal, dead.

PHOTOS: EF-1Tornado Confirmed In Portland

7:00pm UPDATE: The National Weather Service has confirmed that an EF-1 tornado touched down for approximately 10 minutes at roughly 2:30 p.m.

5:15pm UPDATE: Emergency Services have advised us that they are conducting searches with dogs, to make sure the area is clear, and there are no people trapped in homes or buildings.

There are also reports of possible gas leaks, and Consumers Energy is on site to help with any possible gas leaks.

Please consider the city of Portland closed at this time. Do not try to travel through or go to Portland, let them do their work to make sure everyone is safe.
