Michigan State Advances to NCAA Men’s Basketball Tourney Sweet 16 with 60-54 Win over Virginia

Travis Trice had 23 points, including three three-pointers, and Branden Dawson added 15 points and nine rebounds to lead Michigan State past Virginia 60-54 on Sunday afternoon in the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament in Charlotte.

The seventh-seeded Spartans (25-11) advanced to the East Region's Sweet 16 with the triumph.

Second-seeded Virginia (30-4), which also lost to MSU in the tournament last year, got 11 points from Anthony Gill and 10 points and 14 rebounds from Darion Atkins.

A Richland man has been sentenced to 15 months in prison for tampering with vitamins at West Michigan Meijer stores.

WWMT- News Channel 3 reports that 35-year-old Brian Conover pleaded guilty to tampering with vitamins stores in Kalamazoo, Calhoun and Allegan counties over the summer.
