Saturday night, September 24th, the Devin Townsend Project hit Grand Rapids with Between the Buried and Me, and Fallujah, for a night of what Devin calls, "Lower Mid Tier Prog Metal". Nothing lower mid-tier about any of it! Especially BTBAM!
Saturday night, the Devin Townsend Project hit the Intersection with Between the Buried and Me, and Fallujah, for a night of crazy prog metal. Fallujah kicked things off with some interesting, and heavy music.
Saturday night was a night of total geek prog metal. Or, as Devin himself called it, "Lower Mid-Tier Prog Metal"! The Devin Townsend Project, Between the Buried and Me, and Fallujah hit the Intersection, and challenged everyone musically. It was awesome.
Avatar is a cool Swedish metal band that's beginning to break through here in the US with their song "The Eagle Has Landed", from the new album Feathers and Flesh. They're out on tour with Avenged Sevenfold and Volbeat, and we were lucky enough to get them into the studio to tell us funny stories! The guys are really funny.
Avatar is a great Swedish metal band, and they're starting to break through here in the US with their latest album, Feathers and Flesh, and their single, "The Eagle Has Landed". They are on tour with Avenged Sevenfold, Volbeat, and Killswitch Engage, and hit the Van Andel Arena on September 14th for a great show!
Australia has a lot of things going for it: the hot women, the great actors, the scary insects that will kill the crap out of you...and great bands! One of the great Aussie bands is Twelve Foot Ninja, and we got to see them on Tuesday at the Intersection with Sevendust.
Wednesday night, Killswitch Engage hit the big stage at the Van Andel Arena, while on tour with Avenged Sevenfold, Volbeat, and Avatar. They didn't waste any time, and plowed through a heavy set, keeping the crowd screaming, surfing, and moshing throughout.
Before Wilson hit the stage at the Intersection with Sevendust, they came by WGRD to hang with us and some winners, and play some songs acoustic. They don't do this a whole lot, and they had a lot of fun, talking about the band, the music, and partying.
Tuesday night Sevendust rolled into The Intersection with Crobot, Wilson, and 12 Foot Ninja to bring more metal to Grand Rapids! The show started early, about 6:30, with 12 Foot Ninja, and just got crazier and sweatier all night!
Tuesday night, when Sevendust hit the Intersection, they brought with them Wilson, 12 Foot Ninja, and one of the most fun live bands out there...Crobot! I've seen Crobot a few times now, and they bring it full on every single time!
Wednesday night, Volbeat hit the Van Andel Arena while on tour with Avenged Sevenfold, Killswitch Engage, and Avatar, and for those who hadn't seen them, it was like a life-changing experience. They're so good live.
