December 13, 2012 It's with a sad and heavy heart today that I announce the departure of Stoner Andy from the airwaves of WGRD. I first met Mr. Stoner downtown GR at some marijuana protest that HE claimed kept "good weed from good people".
2012 was an incredible year for live shows in Grand Rapids. Hundreds of bands from all genres of music have played in our city this year. But that doesn't really matter too much to us, what matters are the bands that truly rocked the city! That's where you come in, we want to know what was the best rock show of 2012?
The new Grand Rapids Brewing Company has opened in Downtown, at the corner of Ionia and Fulton. It's housed in the old "My Bar" location and right across the street from the new Buffalo Wild Wings. And on Wednesday at 3pm, there was a line out the door. This IS Beer City USA, so it makes sense.

Hope College student Jodi Beckman was crowned the new Miss Greater Grand Rapids on Saturday, December 1, at the Kroc Center in Grand Rapids.
Beckman will represent the Greater Grand Rapids area in the 2013 Miss Michigan Pageant in Muskegon next June.
Update @ 2:15am: Grand Rapids Police have recovered Alyssa Jordyn Bergman at a station on the northeast side of the city.
