Cabaret Update!

We had our first audience the other day and while it was exhilarating dancing around in my skivvy's I had my share of hiccups, but all in all it was an outstanding performance by all! I wanted to share some backstage action here, I like to goof around so my girl Lynnae and I (definitely not paying attention to what was going on) decided to dance around backstage with shorts on my head

Last night was our first dress rehearsal for 'Cabaret' at the Grand Rapids Circle Theatre. We have had such a good time getting ready for this amazing production and yesterday was our first time to really see everything in action, with lights, makeup and costumes. For those who are not familiar with the musical cabaret, here is a brief synopsis:

I like to think know how to dress for the occasion, I love clothes and tend to be a bit of a shopaholic; as of lately though I have found myself rather lazy... My normal ensemble for work has consisted of running shorts, pants, capris or sweat pants. A t-shirt with the sleeves ripped off, and my "pebbles" pony tail (I have short freaking hair so my pony tails tend to be on my head like Pebbles from the Flinestones...)

I look forward to Wingstock all year long. This will be our 3rd year hosting the infamous Wingstock concert and the past two years have literally been a blur! There is lots of booze, rock music, and tons of people. You couldn't really ask for a better weekend. Last year my best gal-pal Chelsie and I roller skated all around the the ball park while we drank massive amounts of beer.

Along with Eric Zane and Producer Steve I have been training for the 5/3 Riverbank Run. Every Saturday we meet with the strider's running group to get our long run in as a big group (group running = faster running!) After my disastrous showing at the Walt Disney Marathon, I felt that I had to come in to this one and try and redeem myself

I love parties! I don't know how I manage to keep functioning considering I find a way to go out every other day but I keep on keepin on! Anyway my favorite kind of party is a theme party! Theme parties are fricken awesome you can dress all crazy like its Halloween everyday! Anyway I am currently in "Cabaret" at the Grand Rapids Circle Theatre (Opening night is May 10th, come watch! I play a skanky dancer!) and have met some super cool new friends

I did not realize it but I completely forgot to share my experience with Grand Rapids Style Battle! Style Battle is a part of Art Prize and held at the Intersection down town. It's pretty simple, there are about 10 teams and a team consists of a store owner or local designer, hair stylist, makeup artist, photographer and 5 models

I am super excited to announce that I was cast as Fritzie a dancer at "The Kit Kat Club" in The Grand Rapids Circle Theatre's rendition of Cabaret! As my best buddy Dahmer would put it, if you don't like theater "you can bite me or gulp it" This show is going to be awesome and not just because I am in it and obviously biased

After my intensely crazy morning of drinking and nuttiness on our GRD bar crawl, I ended up going home for a much needed nap. After the nap I ate an entire hot n ready pizza and decided for round two! I had pretty much destroyed the tutu by spilling beer all over it and falling on the ground multiple times so I changed clothes and stumbled to the nearest bar
